I need to answer this post that i agree with her post
"For this discussion post, I will be talking about the pros and cons of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and the DREAM Act for the United States. The pro side of having DACA and the DREAM Act in our country is that it is beneficial to the U.S. economy. I chose this statement for my post because it is a pretty strong argument to make on why it is important to have both of these policies in America. According to Britannica ProCon.org article, it says that over the next decade, DACA individuals will give $460.3 billion to the United States GDP, which is gross domestic product (ProCon.org, 2022).
This article also mentions that if DACA were to end, states like California and Texas, which have the most DACA individuals would have a massive decline in their GDP, $11.6 billion in California and $6.3 billion in Texas to be exact (ProCon.org, 2022). The con side of having DACA and the DREAM Act in our country is that it promotes more illegal immigration. I chose this statement for my post because I believe this is a valid point.
In the same article, experts say undocumented individuals will most likely continue to grow as a population because if they do not qualify for DACA, they will stay in the United States undocumented, hoping that they will qualify eventually (ProCon.org, 2022). An example that supports this statement is the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA), this act allowed the legalization of 3 million undocumented immigrants. However, between 1990 and 2007, illegal undocumented immigrants escalated to 500,000 per year in our country, which reached up to 12.2 million, instead of the initial amount for the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA), which was 3 million (ProCon.org, 2022).
My opinion: After analyzing points from both the Pro and Con sections, I have concluded that both DACA and the DREAM Act would be good for America because they contribute to the U.S. economy, and most importantly, in my opinion, there would be a huge amount of diverse culture in the U.S. "
