Assessment - The tension between compliance and innovation
Assessment Description Your Task
Complete Part A and B below:
Part A (Video Quiz): Students need to complete a video quiz where they answer questions relating to concepts and principles from Topics 1-4.
The video quiz will be available Monday 10:00am- Wednesday 5pm (AEST) Week 5.
Students will have to complete the quiz ON VIDEO using a zoom meeting (see instructions on MyKBS)
Once students start the quiz, they will have 30 minutes to complete it. They have to record their whole attempt over zoom.
All questions will ask them to explain their answer on video and half of the marks will be given for this.
No backtracking is allowed once a question is completed.
Students will receive feedback for the quiz by Friday of Week 6.
Part B (Case Study): Each student will be assigned a company in class in Week 6. Students are to write a 300-500-word case study and submit it as a Microsoft word file via Turnitin by the end of the class.
Assessment Instructions
PART A: Video Quiz
Record yourself doing the video quiz using zoom screen share.
In Week 4 class your lecturer will take you through how to record a video using Zoom (instructions on MyKBS under assessment table)
You will log into zoom using the instructions, share your screen and start recording.
You will then enter the "Video quiz" on MyKBS where you will need to:
Complete Multiple Choice and short answer questions relating to the content from Topics 1-4 of the subjects.
All questions will ask you to select/write your answer and also explain your reasoning on the video recording. The majority of the marks will be allocated for your on-camera explanations.
Submit your video recording using instructions provided on MyKBS right after you finish your quiz.
Once you start the quiz you will have 30 minutes to complete it. You can start it anytime between 10am Monday to 5pm Wednesday, Week 5.
No backtracking is allowed. Once you complete a question you cannot go back to the previous one.
PART B: Case Study
You have applied for a job as a Compliance Officer for a large company. You will be assigned a company in class during Week 6. You have been tasked with writing recommendations to its Board of Directors' Data Ethics Committee to decide about:
Adopting a new technology solution that addresses a company need, and
The opportunities and risks of this technology in terms of privacy, cybersecurity, regulations and ethics
Your answers to the above two questions will be presented in a case study. You have 3 hours to conduct some brief research write your case study. Your case study does not have to be long at around 300-500 words. See suggested structure below:
