In viewing society as a set of interrelated parts, structural functionalists argue that proposed solutions to social problems may lead to other social problems. For example, urban renewal projects displace residents and break up community cohesion. Racial imbalance in schools leads to forced integration, which in turn generates violence and increased hostility between the races. What are some other solutions that lead to social problems?
