A random sample of 1,260 adults living in New York city was asked (among other things) to name their favorite sports (to watch). Of the 670 females in the survey, 375 indicated that baseball was their favorite sport. Of the 590 males in the survey, 230 named baseball as their favorite sport.

(a) Use these data to find a 90% confidence interval for pF - pM, the difference in the proportion of all females and all males in New York city favoring baseball.

(b) Interpret your interval.

(c) Verify that the "success/failure" conditions are met.

(d) Does your interval in Part (a) provide evidence that pF and pM are equal?
