Biblical Worldview: Prayer and Health "And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up" (King James Bible, 2017, James 5:15). This passage in the Bible reflects on the power that faith and prayer have on the body, including the ability to heal ones that are sick. Though I am not a big proponent of relying on prayer as the sole source of healing, I do not deny that it can help others achieve a healthy status. Improved Outcomes Associated with Prayer In randomized control trials, prayer has been shown to change or modify a person's body. (Andrade & Radhakrishnan, 2009). For example, in a double-blind study performed by Cha & Wirth et al. (2001), 219 infertile women were treated with in-vitro embryo fertilization transfer in Seoul, South Korea. These women were divided into two groups. Prayer was then conducted for one group within the USA, Canada, and Australia. This experiment found that the women who had been prayed for had twice as high a pregnancy rate as those who had not been prayed for. The P value of <0.005 for the higher
