Question

Healthy People 2030 initiative promote healthy development, healthy behaviors, and well-being across all life stages. I think this is extremely important as throughout life we all encounter stages that makes us put our own health and well-being to the side for whatever reason that may be. Things like school, kids, work, sick family members, etc. can all make us put those first over our own health. It is important to have a person or people in your life that remind you to take time for yourself whether that be for mental health, physical, or both. Make those doctor appointments, go for a walk, put the phone down, and spend time with people that pour into your "cup". A simple reminder that if you do not take care of yourself then you can not take care of others or obligations is vital in maintaining your own health and developing healthy behaviors. When approaching this topic as a leader it is important to understand that your colleagues all have challenges outside of work and promoting these things will keep them at their best when they know they have a leader that understands that we are all human and have problems that we all need a little help and support through.
