The archaea, Thermosphaera aggregans, is a prokaryotic organism that lives in extremely hot environments, such as Sulfur Springs, volcanoes, and magma pools. It was first identified at Yellowstone National Park. You are studying this Archae in the laboratory and are trying to identify how many introns it has in one gene in its genome. How long do you think you will take to find some introns?

  1.  Not very long, because like eukaryotes, archaea have introns in their genes
  2.  not very long, since all cells, whether prokaryote or eukaryote have genes with introns
