Use capabilities in Access and/or Excel to answer the questions below. In Access this might include queries. In Excel this might include pivot tables, graphs, filters, sorting or conditional formatting. You can use any function in either tool.
This is not a group project. Your assignment must be your own work. If any part of your assignment is copied from another student, both students will receive a zero for the project and will be reported to the Dean's office.
Deliverables
- Presentation - There are many ways to show data asked for. Create a presentation that would best answer the question for management.
- All your work should be in one spreadsheet and one Access database.
- In the spreadsheet.
- The answer to each question should be in its own (labeled) worksheet, Q1, Q2, Q3,...,Q8.
- If your answer is done in Excel (say a graph or a table), then all I need to see is that work.
- If your answer is a query, type in a cell in the worksheet: "Answer is the query xxx in the Access database" where xxx is the name of the query.
- In summary, each worksheet(Q1, 02,..) will either have the answer or will point me to the answer in your database.
Questions
1. Graphically compare sales by Sales Agents for the years 2005 through 2015. That is, the user should be able to determine what the sales were in each of the years 2005 through 2015. What were the profits for each customer in the years from 2010 to 2015? Include in the display the profits for each product the customer bought in each of the years from 2010 to 2015.
3. What were the two least profitable market groups in the years 2011 through 2015?
4. For 2015, did 80% of the company's Profits come froM20% of the customers?
5. Each sales agent gets a commission on each sale. The commission is a percentage of the sale amount and varies by the region (of the customer) as follows: Midwest 3%, Northeast 4%, South 2.5%, West 3.8%. Determine the total commission each sales agent made in 2014.
6. Management wants to see in the year 2005 - 2015 if there any years where Sales changed significantly? Provide summary data so that this can be determined.
7. Project what total company sales will be for all of 2016. Note the actual sales data ends 9/30/16
(see table Invoice).
8. Management wants to see if Sales Agents who have higher Sales have lower Profit Percentage. Provide summary data for 2015 so that management can determine if this is true.
