Purpose of the assessment - After successful completion of this assessment, students are expected to have:

a) Conceptualize, develop and apply research methods and analytical, technical, managerial and time-management skills to the analysis and design of a capstone project;

b) Identify and evaluate project management concepts and apply them to a realistic business problem;

Purpose - The purpose of this assignment is to conceptualize, develop and apply research methods and analytical, technical, managerial and time-management skills to the analysis and design of a capstone project; identify and evaluate project management concepts and apply them to a realistic business problem;

Description of the assessment -

1. Background - This assignment seeks to motivate student to define project scope, problem statement and literature review.

2. Requirements - Students are expected to submit on Moodle a detailed report of the chosen project. In this stage, student uses the information gathered from the literature review to propose their chosen researched topic. The purpose of this assessment is to assess student's plan and propose the clear statement of the problem for the research topic and report on:

• A front page - indicating the Project topic, your supervisor and your name, student ID and Acknowledgement of the names of all people (including other students, industry client(s) and people outside of the university) who have assisted you.
• A table of contents and page numbers
• An abstract
• An introduction including: Introduction including a clear statement of the problem to be addresses, project scope and goals, expected significance of the project results and the structure of the report
• A detailed review of relevant literature and industrial backgrounds to establish the need for and the originality of the proposed project with in-text referencing
• References (IEEE style)
