It should be written after the acknowledgment and before the list of content page
Introduction
This chapter starts the main body of your dissertation. It sets the scene for the reader and should include:
Brief detail of the problem and the nature of the topic being examined and its importance (justification of the topic investigated), and the research context
Aim and objectives
Outline of sections/chapters to follow
Literature Review
The aim of this chapter is to critically review the literature (existing and established theory and research) that already exists on your topic areas to show the research gap.
This does NOT mean a LIST of everything that has been written; it is NOT a catalogue of views
Divide the chapter into several sections (use sub heading in each section)
Ensure that you write a critical LR
Ensure to use a wide range of sources
Remember to use Harvard Referencing system
Methodology
It explains how the study was made. It includes:
Details of the research philosophy, approach, strategy applied (and justification)
Details of the research methods available and applied (and justification) and the protocol
Details of how you develop the instruments and validity and reliability of the data/instruments
Discussion of Research Ethics
Discussion of how you analyse the data
Results and Analysis
Summary of the methods employed, the sample and response rate, data analysis.
Present your important findings in full and use charts, graphs etc in this chapter. If you use semi structure/in depth interview to collect your data, you can quote your respondents' answers
The data is used to answer/address the research questions/objectives
Discuss your findings in depth in your analysis and discussion
Link your analysis back to the literature review and discuss where your findings are in line (or not) with them (make sure that you reference these)
Conclusions
Refer your key findings and analysis back to your original objectives
The conclusions should show that the research questions/objectives have been answered/addressed
Limitation of study and future study are discussed in this chapter
