Consultancy Proposal Advice
General Advice
• Always keep the client's perspective in mind
• Consider how you/your group could add value to the client as that is how you would win the contract (this is an individual project, but you may discuss/be working with others on some aspects. You are to write this proposal from an individual perspective).
• The proposal must demonstrate a good understanding of the client's needs/issues as well as logical and competent recommendations on how to address the identified key issues.
• You do not need to use or elaborate on theoretical concepts. You can consider relevant theories/models to aid your thought process but they do not have to be academically explained.
Proposal Structure
The follow headings in bold italic indicate the themes that you are recommended to use in your proposal
Title

Introduction: Client's Requirements/ Understanding of Issues Identified/Initial Diagnosis
• What is the task that you have been assigned?
• How would this task help the organisation?
• What are the issues that the organisation are facing them which are currently impeding them from being as effective as they could be/ what aspects have you identified which could enhance the effectiveness of the organisation?
• What are the key aspects that you intended to address to improve the organisation's effectiveness
Aims and Objectives/deliverables (What you intend to do)
• What are the key aims and objectives that you are setting to achieve in this project/plan
• Ensure that objectives support the aim in way that allows the company can achieve the aim in a methodical and logical manner
• Try to consider why a problem may be occurring to aid your approach e.g. if performance management is a problem why is it that there may be performance issues occurring in to order to consider approaches to address the problem
• Ensure that objectives are SMART, do not over-promise and under-deliver
• How will these objectives be assessed?
Parameters and Outcomes (Upon achieving your aims/objectives, what the company would be able to do)
• Outline the scope of the project, what will be included in the final output.
• What will the business be able to do after the project is done.
Approach
• Describe how you as a consultant will address the issue.
Time Plan/Plan of Action
• How can this task/plan be addressed in a given time period?
• what are the steps to be taken/process to go through, when should they happen, who will do the work/what resources may be required, include time scales where possible
Resources / Key Personnel (not needed in great depth for this assessment, the points noted below are general advice if you need to submit a formal consultancy proposal in the future)
• Promote yourself/ group member and the skills that you / they can add value towards addressing the plan/task.
• Use a paragraph on yourself/ or each person which would be the equivalent to taking the best elements of one's CV to demonstrate the key skills, qualifications, experience etc. of each person to promote yourselves to be the group of choice for this consultation pitch.
• Are there any other resources that you would recommended could to employed to aid the effectiveness of the organisation?
Risk Assessment
• Identify risks that you may incur that could impede you from achieve your intended aims and objectives
• How would you mitigate for this risk?
• Do you have any contingency plans?
Costs (not needed in great depth for this proposal,the points noted below are general advice if you need to submit a formal consultancy proposal in the future)
• Consider costs in terms of both time and money for the proposed plan
• The rate of each consultant
• Overall costs based on your estimations
Project 1 - Data Analytics
Objective 1 Market Analysis/Environmental Analysis - (Conduct an environmental audit of the company and assess the competitiveness for the two countries of consideration)
Rationale- Objective 1 Company focus
The student needs to have an understanding of the company's current position, their objectives with an analysis of the external and industry environments that it operates in
Objectives 2: Evaluation of countries - (Using qualitative and quantitative data obtained evaluate which of the two countries would be the best choice of expansion including which products that the company should focus on in the selected country. Aspects that could be considered include
Objectives 3: Strategy for implementation
Rationale- Objective 2 and 3 - Country focus
The students will provide a analysis and evaluation of 2 different potential destination markets from amarket entryperspective from the areas of declared high and medium interest to Dexiotis, i.e., EU/EEA and Middle East / North Africa. Evaluating the country for expansion and product(s) to focus on would also provide key insights for Dexiotis future growth strategies.
Objective 4: Process for data analysis - (Finally, provide an implementation plan in regards to means of conducting future data analysis given prior recommendations to aid continued strategic development.)
- Consider what the best tools/methods should be and why.
- Consider how data analysis would informed strategic consideration and what plans would be best in place to ensure periodic review and implementation that would aid business success in both the medium and long term.
Rationale- Objective 4
Pulling it all together but with an emphasis on the specific country chosen by the student focusing on success for the company both in the near and distant future.
