Project- Launching an International Business
Purpose: This activity is designed to enhance your understanding of the key elements of the international environment and the impact on expanding a business internationally.
Project Guidelines
1. Assume that you are a top manager of a manufacturing company. Select a product that your company manufactures. Assume that your company makes the product domestically and wants to expand production overseas.
2. Select a country for your international expansion and conduct an assessment of the international market for your product.
3. Conduct library research on the cultural, economic, legal, and political aspects of the country's environment.
4. Answer the following questions in your case study.
Please divide your case study into the following sections.
a. Demand- What is the level of demand for your product in this potential market?
b. Cultural, Economic, Political, and Legal Environment- In what ways do the cultural, economic, legal, and political aspects of the country's environment facilitate the success of your product in the market? In what ways do they hinder the success of your product?
c. International Marketing- How will you market your product in this country?
d. Infrastructure- Describe the positive and negative aspects of your country's infrastructure.
e. Human Resources- What are the primary human resource challenges your company will experience in establishing manufacturing facilities and launching your product in this market?
