PROJECT - Inbound and Outbound Logistics Cost Optimisation
Summary of Project Title -
In order to ensure the success of the project, it is essential for the firm to implement effective inbound and outbound logistics so that they can generate value to the organisation as well as project. Inbound logistics are the processes related to the receiving, storing, and distributing inputs internally. The inbound logistics are effective to manufacture a good quality of products and services in order to satisfy the needs and expectations of the customers in the markets. Cost optimisation in the inbound logistics can be achieved through developing the effective relationship with the key suppliers (Ross, 2015). In this, the selection of cost effective supply chain can also be supportive in receiving the raw material in low cost.
On the other hand, it can also summarise that the outbound logistics are the activities that deliver the product or service to the customers. The cost optimisation in the outbound logistics also affects the firm in terms of influencing the profitability. The cost optimisation in the outbound logistics can be achieved through selection of nearby storage or warehouses that can deliver the products according to the needs of the customers quickly (Dornfeld and Linke, 2012). At the same time, for the project, the use of low-cost transportation is also effective to optimise the cost effectiveness for the outbound logistics.
Goals of the Project Title -
The goals of the project title are as followed:
- To achieve the cost optimisation of inbound and outbound logistics by receiving and delivering products at low cost
- To increase the effectiveness of project by suggesting the cost effective supply chain activities
