You idea appears to be well-considered. However, do keep in the mind that embarking on implementation of an EHR is a big task for even the most experienced HIM, so please try not to overwhelm yourself. You only have 1500 - 3000 words. You have mentioned that the project has minimum risk, but anything that could potentially affect patient care will always carry huge risks that need to be mitigated - an EHR is no exception. There may be an aspect of the EHR implementation that you might want to explore in detail, for example, managing the cultural shift from paper-based records to electronic records. You could even focus on the managing the risks associated with implementing a EHR and still have loads of material to work with. The more focused your project is, the easier it will be to complete the assignment.
