MST Corporation had a convertible bond outstanding in Nov. 2017. Each Bond, with a face value of $1,000 could be converted into common shares at a rate of 33.46 shares of stock per $1,000 face value bond, or $29.89 per share. In Nov. 27, MST's common stock was trading (on the NASDAQ) at $31.78 per share. MST's convertible bonds were trading at 1,021.25% of the face value of the bond. Is it profitable to convert the bonds into common stock in MST corp? Why?
