Question

You will be completing an occupational profile of a standardized patient during an interview. This exercise will closely resemble the evaluation process you would follow with a client. How: You and your peers will be using the occupational therapy profile tool as a guide. You will interview Ms. Frances, taking notes on her responses as needed. As the interview is completed, think about the interviewing skills used and how therapeutic use of self is integrated. The interview should be fluid and engage the client in a conversation about their occupational history, goals, and needs. Avoid asking many close-ended questions and simply reading through the occupational profile form. Your occupational profile interview should help you to understand who this client is; what their goals and priorities are; and help you determine the types of assessment tools you will consider to understand this client's overall functioning.
