Objective of Project 3:

This Logbook will be presented in front of your potential or current employer. It is a Professional Personal Business plan. It will help you be more focused in doing job interviews or applying for a promotion. It will teach you how to market yourself and improve your career path.
• Font style = Times new romans , Font size = 12 , Minimum number of words = 1500, Max number of words =4000
• For every section, you need to write an introduction using the vocabulary given in the section heading or section questions.
• Pay attention to the transition from question to another.
• Write full sentence by reusing the question words. Writing part of a sentence will lower your grade. YES /NO answers are not accepted.

General overview of Project 3

For this project, you will write a Professional Personal Business Plan and do a pitch in class highlighting how entrepreneurship and innovation could play a role in your personal and career paths. The entrepreneurial process is at its core concerned with "the pursuit of opportunity without regard to the resources already under control." This process is as applicable to your career as it is to starting a company. The goal of this assignment is to identify where you want to be in the coming 5 years and how you will get there. Do not worry about your current resources. Think entrepreneurially! The assignment should summarize the areas below, with a special emphasis on reflecting on a "failure."

This project will help set a professional plan for the coming next 5 years. Analyze deeply yourself, and where would like to see yourself in the future. Then set an action plan for your career.

Section 1: Vision and Opportunity

You need to make a difference between goals and vision. Goals are oriented towards actions you are planning to do in the future while vision is discussing the main values behind your future actions.

Apply for a job goal: Why did you choose this goal? Specify which job are planning to choose ? What is the company name? What are the requirements to be accepted in this job? For how long are you planning to work there ?

What are the requirements to be accepted at this university? For how long are you going to study ? How are you going to cover your fees?

SMART goals are:
• Specific: Well defined, clear, and unambiguous
• Measurable: With specific criteria that measure your progress towards the accomplishment of the goal
• Achievable: Attainable and not impossible to achieve

• Realistic: Within reach, realistic, and relevant to your life purpose
• Timely: With a clearly defined timeline, including a starting date and a target date. The purpose is to create urgency.

(These are essential questions that serve as touchstones to direct your life and work)

5. What am I passionate about?

While answering these 3 questions, you need to show the reader how your personal skills will have a positive impact on your career and/or educational path.

(d)Provide 3 examples from the current job market and/or professional development opportunities available. ( / 3)

Do a search online and find 3 job opportunities matching your profile. Write the name of the company, the job title , and the requirements for this position.
This is the only section , you can copy and paste it. However , if the requirements are too long, choose the most important information .
Examples should align with your goals, and take into consideration the opportunities to make a difference. ( /1)
Discuss how these market opportunities are aligned with your goals. Don't restrict yourself to matters of career or work; think more broadly about your opportunities to make a difference.

Section 2: Marketing &Implementation Strategy

(a) Create a marketing positioning statement directed at hypothetical employer, industry, organization or world at large. ( /3)

Marketing positioning statement should be complete and correctly structured.

You might have not done yet something special in your life. While writing this section, try to state your plan that will help you be a special and unique employee in the future. DO NOT write untruthful information. You can write about things you are planning to do or learn in the future.

(b) Describe the compelling or cumulative added values that you offer to employer/society. ( /3)
Summarize all the added values you might have discussed before in your logbook in BULLETS FORM. Do NOT write a paragraph.

(c) Explain how you are different from other UAE students or population. ( /4)

You need to discuss sentence #2: Uniqueness in detail. Write a paragraph about it using more qualities and strengths you already have/did or you ARE PLANNING TO DO OR LEARN in the future. Do write untruthful information. Try to think positively what do you need to do to improve your CV in order to be competitive in the job market after graduation. Try to plan for a rich CV.

Section 3: Risks and Mitigation

It is your OWN PERCEPTION of success . You are not supposed to copy the definition from google. Try to think about yourself. When do you think you are a successful person in life or at work? There is no right and wrong definition because it is your own definition.

You can NOT choose someone you NEVER met in your life or someone who did NOT give you any advice or guidance. There is a difference between role model and mentor. I am NOT asking about role model. It is better to choose a mentor related to your field of work. S/he might have given you guidance and mentorship for a short or a long period of time. If you did not find someone in your field of work , you can choose any person who mentored you in real life such as any person from your family , relatives, friends, senior student, teacher, advisor, ...

(c) Summarize your Personal Business plan in 6 words that are applicable and relevant.( /3)
