Assignment - Principal Interview

After completing your principal interview regarding Professional Learning Community Essential Question 2, what can you identify as a strength and area for growth for that specific school? Please make connections back to the resources you reviewed. *Remember, one of the values of a discussion board is to learn, collaboratively, with your course colleagues.

1) Our focus in the coursework this week is about the second essential question that guides a professional learning community, "How will we know when they have learned it?" We have been reading about the importance and value of formative assessment practices. Take a moment and share with me how this question would be answered collectively by teachers. What might they say? What resources would they refer to?

2) Part of our reading emphasizes the value in student ownership of their learning, especially when they can recognize the following: a) Where am I going? b) Where am I now? c) How can I close the gap? Can you identify a classroom where you feel student ownership is at a high level in regards to these three questions? Share with me what you see taking place in that classroom.

3) When you are engaged in the instructional leadership tasks of the job such as professional learning and classroom observation and feedback, how much of this is focused on or aligned to the following essential question: "How will we know when they have learned it?" Please share examples.
