Engineering Service Delivery Plan and Risk Evaluation Theories and Practices.
LO1 Evaluate the risk evaluation theories and practices associated with the management of projects for the production of current and developing technology
LO2 Produce an engineering services delivery plan that meets the requirements of a sector-specific organisation.
Assignment 1
Assignment brief
Purpose of this assignment:
To educate trainees with different management tools used to manage an engineering project implementation through creating some tasks which reflect the ability of trainees to use the required management tools used in planning the engineering service delivery plan. The trainees has to take the theme of current years
"Maintainability" in creating the assessment tasks.
Scenario:
You are working in QST company as a project engineer and assigned to prepare a comprehensive service delivery plan that is able to maintain or increase the reliability for a project as mutually agreed with assessor. You are required to present your work as a report and presented to a management panel which include evaluation of risks theories, challenges encountered the project when meeting the requirement for successfully managing activities, and your contingency plan.
You report should include a service delivery plan that maintains and increase the reliability of the project and meets the requirement of the customer, contingencies that prevent to achieve them by determining appropriate tools for the design.
Task 1 This task provides evidence
It is a part of your job as a project engineer to evaluate the risks and challenges confront the project in order to be able to manage your project successfully and maintain the reliability of the project. This required from you fully understand the risk evaluation theories and practices associated with the management of projects to reflect your ability to use them in planning your project management.
In order to have a successful management of your project, you are required to assess the elements and issues which impact on the successful management of engineering activities. You are also required to critically evaluate the main of elements and issues.
Usually planning and implementing project management will confront some challenges, to meet the requirement managing the engineering activities successfully, you are required to determine and evaluate these challenges and provide your recommendations to overcome these challenges with justification.
Guidance/notes to trainees:
• Use your project as a base so you can use it to implement all engineering management techniques,
• Demonstrate the risk evaluation theories and practices associated with the management of engineering project and evaluate them.
• Study the elements and issues that impact the successful management of engineering activities and assess them, then critically evaluate the main ones.
• Specify and analyse the challenges encountered when meeting the requirements of successfully managing engineering activities, and make justified recommendations to overcome these challenges.
Evidence for this task:
• Submit your work as written report.
• Your work should be referenced.
Task 2 This task provides evidence
It is essential part of the project management to have engineering service delivery plan for the project which can run the project implementation smoothly and maintain the reliability of the project. You are required to develop an engineering services deliver plan for your project requirement.
Also you are required to determine the engineering management tools that needed to design the service delivery plan.
In addition of developing the service delivery plan, evaluate how each step of the plan meets the requirement of the customer.
The service delivery plan may confront some difficulties which need to have modification. Critically evaluate the contingencies that might prevent the delivery plan meeting the requirement of the customer.
Guidance/notes to trainees:
• Explain the engineering management tools you need for designing an engineering delivery plan for your project,
• To implement the project plan that you have prepared, you need to design an engineering delivery plan for your project. The format of the plan needs to have an approval of the supervisor,
• Evaluate how each step of the service delivery plan you set up meets some of the project's requirements,
• Any plan may be subject to difficulties during its implementation, critically evaluate of an unexpected event which can prevent the implementation of the plan required to reach the requirements of the project.
Evidence for this task:
• Submit your work as written report.
• Your work should be referenced.
