Assignment 1 | Project Report

A project report consisting of 50% of the module's total marks was undertaken. See the structure of the report below. Submission will be made via Moodle page of the course

Assignment 2 | Video Presentation

1. For the remaining 50 % of the marks, students must produce a ten-minute video about the project undertaken.
2. The video should summarise the key elements of the project report, focusing on the outcome(s) of their engagement. The video file will be uploaded to Moodle during the following week of the submission date of the first assignment.
3. You may use any preferred aid in your video, such as PowerPoint slides, Prezi, a whiteboard, a poster, or speaking without slides.
4. The initial plan (pre-Corvid-19) was for students to present in person, where the client will be invited along with a personal tutor and module coordinator; however, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the recorded video presentation has been introduced.
5. Students do not need to bring new elements to the video. However, they need to acquire the skill of presenting their work and outcome to the audience as part of the consulting process.

6. Any device would be accepted, and it should be in an accessible format (i.e. a camera, mobile phone or computer). If you need technical assistance, you may approach the IS Service at the Faculty of Business and Law.

5. Execution of the project (how long did it take, who was involved, who are the customers, users) and discuss the project methodology as well.
6. Project outcomes: to which extent the outcomes matched the project objectives)
7. Reflection part: what went right, what went wrong, why it went wrong, how did you go about it, what lessons did you learn?, your interaction with peers and project coordinator (where applicable) - you may consider the components of the theoretical framework adopted (see point No. 4) to outline your reflection.
8. Conclusion and recommendations.

Route Two | Desktop-based Project | 5000 words

This route is developed based on the need for desktop-based projects as an alternative to the field project (Route 1) for several reasons, including students' preference or lack of relevant field projects. You have been assigned a recent report/case study. The assignment (course work) outcome is identical to the first route as you will produce a 5000 word-report. You have been assigned the following case: GE Digital: Racing to Lead Industry 4.0

Your report should perform the following tasks:

1. Provide an overview of the case: who is involved, the context, summary of the stakeholders involved.
2. Analyse the market opportunity described in the case study.
3. Explain the formation context and approach of GE Digital from 2015 until 2021 how GED has changed since July 2019.
4. Who are the rivals of GED, and what are the challenges? In your view, how does GED handle these challenges?
5. Analyse GED's approach to optimising and transforming a business that delivers to its stakeholders an 'intelligent enterprise,' where real-time data informs the digital boardroom. Consider the new CEO, Pat Byrne's Approach.
6. Critically evaluate GED's approach towards digital transformation, considering the context of the business and the five industrial verticals mentioned in the document. What approaches and practices would you suggest GED adopt? And why?
7. Reflection part: what went right, what went wrong, why it went wrong, how did you go about it, what lessons did you learn?)
8. Conclusion and recommendations.
