Nike has been criticized for reaping great profits while manufacturing many of its products in third world countries where wages are low. Discuss this situation by considering the four ethical theories in this chapter. With each theory, discuss how Nike may have made the decision to manufacture its products in cheap labor markets. With the rights theory, they could protect works and employees better. With justice theory, it would allow employees to get better working conditions, even though they mad be scored by the elite company. Utilitarianism would be keeping morale high at work and maintaining strong healthy, and happy relationships between company, and laborer. The profit maximizations provide quick and safe work that allows the workers, and employees work, without worry while also maximizing profit.
