Journals are used to keep track of thoughts, ideas, and occurrences. In this course, you will be keeping track of your thoughts about certain topics presented. You are to write the journal about your own thoughts on the topic. You must also write regarding how the topic affects you personally, either through your work (i.e., how it affects your company) or personally (i.e., how it affects your decisions). This is not regurgitation of what others say; it is what you think based on what you have learned. Keeping track for 10 weeks, the result will be a better understanding about your own decisions and your beliefs about marketing promotions.

Topic: Did You Get Hooked In?

1. Think back to any past sweepstakes or contests you have participated with. Would you have considered the product without the sales promotion tactic?

2. Did participating in the sales promotion cause you to develop an attachment to the product?

3. Do you think you could be persuaded to change brands due to the prize offered through a sweepstakes or contest? What would it take?
