Task

Assessment 2 consists of A) a written report and B) a presentation. Part A is a 2500-word written report that requires students to develop the final phases of the new product (service or idea) development process, including sales forecasting, product protocol development, testing the new product/prototyping, and the product launch.

Using the same organisation and the new product or service from assessment 1, you will continue your journey through the new product development process by proposing the subsequent phases. Students will compose a comprehensive report detailing the last two phases of the new product process. This report will provide a deep dive into the development and launch plans for the new product/service concept from Assessment 1.

Part A: Written report procedure

Introduction
• Provide a brief introduction to the organisation and purpose of your chosen product's development and launch phases (100 words).

Phase 4 Development
• Sales forecasting with the A-T-A-R Model (500 words).
o Provide a thorough sales forecast for your selected product or service, employing the A-T-A-R model for your predictions.
• Product Protocol Development (700 words)
o Outline a comprehensive product protocol for the new product or service, detailing the criteria and specifications it should meet (see the Product Protocol document).
• Testing and Prototyping the New Product/Service (500 words)
o Concisely describe the methods and approaches used for how the new product or service would be prototyped, tested, and refined based on feedback.

Phase 5 Launch
• Launch Management Plan (600 words). Formulate a launch management system plan that is robust and clearly outlines these four steps:
1. Spot potential problems.
2. Select the problems to control.
3. Develop contingency plans for the control problems.
4. Design the tracking system.
Conclusion
• Conclude with a clear and logical final statement (100 words).

Part B: Oral Presentation

Deliver a 5-minute oral presentation, akin to a marketing executive reporting to the CEO, emphasising the critical components of the Part A written report. This presentation should be persuasive, concise, and focused on the most pivotal aspects of the development and launch plans. Your presentation should not include any additional material than what is in your Assessment 2 written report (Part A). You can use any PowerPoint slide design that engages the audience and presents your material to its best advantage.

Oral presentation guidelines
1. Prepare your presentation using PowerPoint (Office 365)
2. Record your presentation using Zoom
3. Submit your presentation as a shareable Zoom link
See AIB Style Guide: 8. Oral presentation guidelines
