This is a research assignment to produce a short technical report (apprpximately between 1000-2000 words plus diagrams and figures) with an appropriate referencing list and citations following APA styling. One has chosen research on the following topic "Aluminium Casting Alloys" from the list provided in the attached file, the information must be gathered from newspapers, technical journal, a web site and a book. You can look at the references in Wikipedia but must not use wikipedia as a reference. The focus of the report must be on the essential engineering properties of the material selected, the engineering requirements and/or the implications for its use and how it is used. Discussion must include the source of the materials involved (raw materials), how it is produced, fabricated and recycled, why it is essential or preferable for a specific use or uses, a brief economic consideration and what is the national and/or regional significance of the material or technology. The skill is to utilise a potentially large amount of information from different sources and produce a concise technical report. I have attached the assignment sheet provided by the course coordinator for your reference. If you have any question regarding the assignment please let me know and how long will the assignment take to be done?
A conducting bar of length l rotates about one end in a uniform magnetic field at a frequency of ω rad/sec. Determine the potential difference between the two ends using (a) Faraday's law of induction.
What should be the capacitance of a capacitor, in series with a 250-ohm resistor, that will limit the current to 1.2 A when the circuit is connected to a 600 V 60-cycle source
Design a circuit that takes a sinusoidal input of varying frequency at 1V amplitude and produces an output amplitude of approximately 1V when the frequency is 1 Hz and approximately 0.5V when the frequency is 1,000Hz.
Using MatLab, create and graph the pairwise convolution of the following functions (i.e., A must be convolved with B, C, D, and E, individually. B must be convolved with C, D, and E, individually, Etc.). All time scales are -4 to +4.
Discuss what is meant by poles and zeros of a transfer function. How does the determination of each help in understanding the response of a circuit?
Why are standards so important for NICs, connectors, and media
An edge-coupled microstrip line with a ground plane spacing of 0.5 mm and dielectric constant of 10 is required to have even- and odd-mode characteristic impedances of Zoe=70 and Zoo=40
Design a D.T. FIR filter to only pass a band of frequencies 20 kHz wide from the frequencies between 10 kHz and 30 kHz. The center frequency of the band lies at 20 kHz and the sampling frequency is 200 kHz. Use the Hamming window.
An amplifier operating from +/- 12 V power supplies has alinear transfer characteristic except for output saturationat+/- 11.4 V. a) The peak-to-peak value of the largest sinusoidal wave thatcanbe applied at the amplifier input without output dist..
The inferred absolute temperature for copper is -243.5C. If the resistance of a copper wire is 10 ohms at 25C, what is its resistance at 200C
Production cost refers to prime cost plus 1. factory, administration and sales overheads 2. factory overheads 3. factory and administration overheads 4. factory, administration, sales overheads and profit
A 150 MVA, 24 kV, 123% three-phase synchronous generator supplies a large network. The network voltage is 27 kV. The generator operates with an induced voltage, which is twice the rated line-to-neutral voltage.
