Assessment — 3D model of a single storey residence
Assessment task - For this project you will create a digital 3D model of a single storey residence using Revit software.
You will have time during class time to work on this assignment additionally you may require between 1-2 hours per week additional to complete the assignment.
• You will be issued with a `hardcopyi of a floor plan, building elevations, section, detail and schedules (see attached).
• You will set up the levels (FFL, FGL and FCL)
• Model: You are required to produce a complete digital 3-D model of the building using Revit software to industry standard which must include:
a. Walls (250 brick veneer, brick 110, brick 230 and stud timber 90)
b. Windows and doors (refer to schedules for types and sizes)
c. Roof (generic 125 roof type with 21° roof pitch)
d. Ceilings above garage and residence (2550high)
e. Floors (generic 150 and 20mm tile floor types)
f. Slab edge
g. Fascia and gutters
h. Columns (architectural columns for engaged piers in garage)
i. Components (plumbing fixtures, casework, speciality equipment)
Documentation: You are required to reproduce working drawings on A3 sheets using Revit software to industry standard which must include:
a. Cover page -3D camera view
b. Floor plan- 1:100 scale, dimensions, rooms, tags and annotations
c. Elevations — 1:100 scale, levels, dimensions, tags and annotations
d. Section- 1:50 scale, regions, insulation and annotations
e. Detail and Schedules- 1:10 scale, detail lines, insulation, detail components, groups, regions and annotations. Window and door schedule.
• The work submitted is to be entirely your own work
• The complete 3D digital model and documentation is to be submitted electronically in a Revit format (rvt) on eLearn
Assessment Criteria
To demonstrate competence in this assessment you will meet the following criteria:
• Demonstrated procedures for File management- including save, name and retrieve
• Set up basic system parameters — levels and constraints
• Source and apply architectural objects — Windows, doors and components
• Use 3-D modelling functions from Revit software to create the 3-D model-Walls, windows, doors, floors, roof, ceilings, fascia's, gutters, columns and components
• Create sheets -with title block and place views on sheets with specified scales
• Dimensions and notations -are applied to views- dimensions, annotation and tags
• Use 2D functions from Revit software — detail lines, regions, detail components, insulation and groups
