The scenario described in this problem will apply to the next few questions (16 - 19).

A researcher wants to study the average miles run per day for marathon runners in their training. The researcher has been told that the average miles run per day is 25. The researcher believes the average number is different. A random sample of 36 marathon runners drawn from a normal population whose standard deviation is 10 produced a mean of 22.8 miles run daily.

The null and alternative hypotheses to be tested are:

A) H0: μ ≠ 25 vs. H1: μ = 25

B) H0: μ = 25 vs. H1: μ ≠ 25
