Male unemployment

Using the unemployment data pro- vided by the United Nations, investigate the association between the male unemployment rate in 2004 and 2005 for a sample of 52 countries. (The sample is smaller than in Exercise 27, since not all countries reported rates in both years.)

a) Find a regression model predicting the 2005-Male rate from the 2004-Male rate.

b) Examine the residuals to determine if a linear regression is appropriate.

c) Test an appropriate hypothesis to determine if the asso- ciation is significant.
