Laundry detergents

A consumer group wants to test the efficacy of a new laundry detergent. They take 16 pieces of white cloth and stain each with the same amount of grease. They decide to try it using both hot and cold wa- ter settings and at both short and long washing times. Half of the 16 pieces will get the new detergent, and half will get a standard detergent. They'll compare the shirts by using an optical scanner to measure whiteness.
