You have been assigned the job of creating an experiment The module consists of
- A battery
- A back-up battery
- A measurement module for the experiment
- A data recording module

Reliability functions are as follows:
- The reliability function for the battery is linear; and the battery will have failed after 5000 hours.
- The reliability function for the back-up battery is also linear; unfortunately, this battery will have failed after 2500 hours.
- The measurement module has an instantaneous failure rate of 0.0002 failures/hour (constant rate)
- The recorder has an instantaneous failure rate of 0.0002 failures/hour (constant rate).

What is the probability that the system is functioning after 1000 hours? (Show work).
