Question: Suppose that 8% of all managers in a given company are African American, 13% are women, and 17% have earned an MBA degree from a top-10 graduate business school. Let A, B, and C be, respectively, the events that a randomly selected individual from this population is African American, is a woman, and has earned an MBA from a top-10 graduate business school.

a. Do you believe that A, B, and C are independent events? Explain why or why not.

b. Assuming that A, B, and C are independent events, find the probability that a randomly selected manager from this company is a white male and has earned an MBA degree from a top-10 graduate business school.

c. If A, B, and C are not independent events, can you calculate the probability requested in part b from the information given? What further information would you need?
