Assessment - Portfolio

Assessment Brief: Students are required to develop a portfolio of written public relations materials of up to 4500 words in total including the situational analysis for each piece. This portfolio of work should include; a media release (450 words), fact sheet or backgrounder (250 words), company newsletter (1000 words), a feature article for online or print (1000 words) and will be delivered on a staggered deadline schedule throughout the trimester in 3 parts.

In addition, students must write a situational analysis (450 words) for each piece to answer:

Why it was developed.

Who the audience is.

What the purpose is.

How it fits into the organisation's strategy.

Where it will be presented or distributed.

ASSESSMENT SCHEDULE -

Part A: - Media release 450 words & Fact Sheet/Backgrounder 250 words (+ Situation Analysis 450 words).

Part B: Company newsletter 1000 words (+ Situation Analysis 450 words).

Part C: Feature article for online or print 1000 words (+ Situation Analysis 450 words).
