After reading the following scenario, select one of the foregoing principles you find to be the most important and explain why you chose the principle you did.

Alysha lived alone in an apartment. Her neighbor Sandra's 18-year-old son, Dan, broke into her apartment one night while she was out, breaking a window to gain access, ransacking her living room and bedroom, and stealing several hundreds of dollars' worth of electronics and liquor. She came home at 1:00 AM to discover the break-in. She called the police who, with the help of security cameras, quickly discovered Dan was the perpetrator. The experience deeply affected Alysha, who no longer felt safe living alone. She had known Dan since he was young, and she had grown increasingly wary of him as he had gotten older and fallen in with a crowd of "loser kids" from the neighborhood. Alysha doesn't like Dan but she also knows that a stint in jail will only dig him further into a life of crime, including more break-ins.
