How do I answer this post; In just over 9 minutes, this video explains what lean manufacturing is, a quick overview of all the tools used for poor management, the principles of poor management, a comparison to the Toyota Production System (TPS), and the industries that use lean. Ziobrowska describes lean management as a method of production management based on the Toyota Production System. The main concepts are maximizing value for the customer and eliminating all types of waste, such as overproduction, excess inventory, and unnecessary traffic.

The lean strategy can help organizations achieve their goals by constantly iterating and improving upon processes and practices, increasing efficiency, increasing sales, and broadening the customer base. By increasing efficiency and decreasing waste, an organization would save money and be able to focus on value adds for the customer. I think the Kaizen element affects the operation the most by empowering employees to take ownership of process improvement and determining the improvement step together.
