This problem should be solved using the principles of Energy Conservation

  • Write the kinetic, potential and total energy of a baseball having a mass of 0.145kg held at rest 10 meters above the ground.
  • The baseball is released. Under the influence of gravity on Earth, it freefalls to the ground. Assuming the air resistance is negligible, write the kinetic, potential and total energy of the baseball at the instant when the baseball hits the earth.
  • What is the baseball's final speed when it impacts the ground using the principles of Energy Conservation?
