A 36-year-old woman calls the primary care clinic reporting decreased ileostomy output, nausea, and vomiting. She says she attended a family reunion over the weekend, where she enjoyed corn on the cob, barbecue, and green leafy vegetables. Over the next 2 days, she noticed her ileostomy output became more liquid and then decreased in amount, and she ultimately had no output. She has had increasing nausea and vomiting since then and has not been able to retain any oral intake today. What is the most appropriate recommendation for this patient?
