Patient is a 16-year-old single primigravida with a due date of January 20. She spontaneously broke her bag of waters at 9 a.m., began having contractions at 10 a.m., and was admitted at 12:15, 3 to 4 cm with 3- to 4-minute contractions. The patient was fairly comfortable with this. Prenatal record has been reviewed. This is the patient's first trip to the hospital. She denies any serious heart and lung disorder or any previous significant medical history.
