A block whose mass is M = 33 kg is pushed across a frictionless surface by a stick whose mass is 3.2 kg. The block is moved 77 cm in 1.7 s at constant acceleration. If the block was originally at rest how much force did the stick apply to make it move like that? Now assume we place the block on a new flat surface such that there is a friction between the box and the surface it rests on so that the block will move only if a force of 11 N applied to it; and the stick will move it with the same acceleration as in the previous part of the problem. What is the coefficient of static friction in this case.
