Question

This is a 7-year-old female who presented with a problem swallowing. The mother states that she took the child to her pediatrician for evaluation when she started having problems eating and holding food down. The pediatric office sent over results of CT scans of the neck, chest, and trunk as well as lab test results. Upon review of the CT scans, it is noted that a slight mass is present on the esophagus that has probably been present since birth. Today a surgical removal of the mass and path examination was completed. The postoperative diagnosis of esophageal cyst (congenital) was made.
