HIV and STD Program Director
Class specifications are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed by employees in the class. Class specifications are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.
Under general direction, plans, organizes, and directs Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/Sexually Transmittable Disease (STD) control programs for the County; provides advice and recommendations to senior management and the public regarding HIV and STD issues; supervises subordinate staff; and keeps abreast of relevant legislation including health and safety codes related to HIV and STDs. In addition, the HIV/STD Program Director serves or designates appropriate management staff to serve as the Sexually Transmittal Disease Controller and the HIV Surveillance Coordinator for the County; and performs other related work as required.
