Process Analysis and Problem Solving

- The report encompasses 7 aspects of 8 Ways as discussed by Yunkaporta, T (2009). You are preparing a report for your manager to assist in the development of business analysis artefacts in the work place.
- Non Linear is what happens are you prepare and then re think about what you have learnt
- Non-verbal is the written form, as well as your thinking and researching
- Deconstruct and reconstruct: Thinking about the big picture and then looking at the parts
- Storytelling is what you are presenting to your manager
- Community, this relates to the sector you have chosen as well as the business analyst world
- Land links, this would depend on the sector and are you looking at a particular location eg Africa or India or Singapore etc for that sector.
- Symbols as displayed in your activity diagrams

Scope of report:
You are to investigate and write a report for your manager, on artificial intelligence (AI) and the potential impact AI Is having/will have on the role of a business analyst (BA).
You may choose any sector that sparks your interest. Ideas might be health, education, finance, science, engineering or any other.
In particular, you will analyse ChatGPT outputs, and then document recommended pathways and/or processes that a BA could implement as part of best practice, to ascertain the veracity of the ChatGPT responses.
In order to narrow your response, you are asked to focus on the following areas, only:
• Requirements gathering; and
• Stakeholder communication.

This report is for your manager, so that resources can be managed appropriately within the organisation by identifying the processes your organisation will need to implement when using ChatGPT for business analysis artefacts.
Provide three clear recommendations for your manager in the report.
Incorporate an activity diagram or two (digital and analogue processes) that reflect requirements gathering and stakeholder communication. In addition, provide description/s of the processes followed in your activity diagram/s to show how you are checking the veracity.
Samples of the questions asked as part of your analysis (and the ChatGPT responses) are also to be included with your report (perhaps as appendices).

The International Institute of Business Analysis, (2006, p9) defines a business analyst (BA) as:

"A business analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems. The business analyst understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals."
