Question: Prepare the report based on the virtual field trip provided in attached link, additional information related to the field trip provided in link 3 and 4.
The length of the report should be about minimum 1000 words (~2 pages) and maximum 1500 (~3 pages) and submit via Turnitin. The report should contain an introduction, treatment process flow diagram, treatment mechanisms (wastewater and sludge), a similar wastewater treatment plant in Australia, or other countries, conclusions, and references. Report structure and weightage for each component are given below:
Introduction: It should contain a general statement and structure of the report (relative weight in marking: 10%).
Wastewater Plant Flow Diagram: A proper layout of the treatment process starting from the primary treatment to the end disposal of the water (relative weight in marking: 10%).
Wastewater treatment process/mechanisms description: Explain the wastewater treatment process/mechanisms taking place in each treatment unit starting from the primary treatment to the tertiary treatment process. Describe the removal mechanisms using the correct equations. Explain the wastewater quality after each treatment unit. Discuss the end disposal/use of the treated wastewater (relative weight in marking: 30%).
Sludge/biosolids treatment process description: Draw the sludge/biosolids treatment flow diagram and explain the treatment mechanism of each unit. Discuss the end-use/disposal of the sludge/biosolids (relative weight in marking: 10%).
Comparison: Select a similar wastewater treatment plant located in Australia or other countries that adopt a similar treatment process. Discuss the treatment process and end disposal/reuse and compare the treatment processes between the two treatment plants (relative weight in marking: 15%).
Conclusion: Summarise the key messages of the report, limitation of the treatment process, and recommendation for future improvement (relative weight in marking: 15%).
References: List the references cited in the report following the UWS Harvard style. Arrange in the alphabetic order (relative weight in marking: 5%).
