Assignment:

The goal is to develop a protocol to isolate Frischella bacteria from honeybees. These bacteria may be protective of the bees. This project is in collaboration with Dr. Jennifer Walke's lab at Eastern Washington University.

1. Read the two papers about Frischella and the gut microbial communities of bees.

2. Based on the literature, carefully design an experimental protocol to try in the lab to isolate Frischella.

3. Set up the experiment in the lab and turn in a conclusion of your results.
