Poster presentation instructions -

1. Choose a topic for Poster presentation.

2. When preparing the poster you need to produce 7 A4 size sheets (one of them should be the title of the poster). The sheets can be organised either horizontally or vertically to make a poster. Power point should be used to prepare the sheets.

3. The posters should be produced in accordance with the guidelines for poster presentation outlined:

Visual presentation - The visual impact of the poster, including attention to detail and the general layout. The poster should attract onlookers and maintain their interest.

Scientific content - The quality and relevance of scientific information presented.

Discussion - The student should be able to talk with confidence and knowledge about the topic and answer questions (however basic).

Accessibility - The poster should communicate effectively. The topic should be presented in such a way as to make it understandable to a wide scientific audience.

Note - In preparing the poster you cannot use any images or text taken directly from the lectures.

Words: Around 500 for the poster in PDF. A list of student numbers has been posted on the Moodle site with the ID numbers and the topic for poster presentation assigned to each of the student numbers. Approximately half of the students from each of the 4 groups will present poster topics in Semester A and the other half will present poster topics in Semester B. The topics have been taken directly from the lecture content for Semester A ONLY and therefore should serve as an additional revision tool. One topic has been assigned to up to two students but each student should prepare their poster individually and not as a group. In preparing the poster you cannot use any images or text taken directly from the lectures and any use of these will be sanctioned by penalty marks. The poster saved as a pdf file should be uploaded on the Turn It In link.
