Topic: Pros and Cones of using Social Media to promote small businesses.
Overview:
Each student will research and prepare an informative or persuasive written report and oral presentation on a topic pertaining to your degree field, target industry / company or a business communications topic covered this semester.
Below, you will find information on your audience, specific requirements, and expectations for handling your research sources. Read the entire sheet, word-for-word since you will be held accountable for everything on it.
Audience:
The audience for both your report and your presentation will be professional staff (both peer and management) at a company or non-profit for whom your topic is relevant.
Written Executive Summary/Report:
You should consult at least 5 sources for your information in your report. I will be evaluating the quality of data according to the information in Chapters 12 and 13 in your text. You must include both internal citations and a Reference page in APA format. For example, an internal citation might look like the following:
"A recent Forbes magazine article found that forensic accountants have recovered $1.2 billion in the last 5 years (Smith, 2017). However, other studies question the rising costs of audits (Jones, 2016, Taylor, 2017)."
You may use any effective format and/or design elements, but you should use standard, professional grammar and mechanics. It is up to you to decide which information and format is most relevant to your audience.
