3. You and Smith are on patrol in Los Angeles, California, driving patrol unit 2341 on the above date and time. You are driving on Mulholland Drive when you receive a radio call that a McDonald's restaurant has been robbed by two W/M suspects, armed with a pistol. The McDonald's is located at 5045 Mulholland Drive, LA, CA. The robbery suspects are described as suspect #1 W/M, 20-25, 5'10",190 pounds, wearing blue jeans, a red T-shirt, and white sneakers. Suspect #2, W/M, 18-22, 6'2", 215 pounds, wearing blue jeans, a white-T-shirt, and white sneakers. The suspects were last seen driving a black Ford Explorer, heading north on Mulholland Drive. While responding to the McDonald's call, you are passed in the opposite direction by a black Ford Explorer traveling at a high rate of speed and occupied by two white males. You suspect they are the robbers, and you give chase. A short distance farther, the Ford Explorer stops, and the driver jumps from the vehicle and runs north on Mulholland Drive. You give chase while your partner handles the second occupant of the vehicle riding in the passenger front seat.
4. You are successful in apprehending the driver while your partner handles the other occupant of the vehicle. After handcuffing your suspect, you search his person and locate a .45 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun, fully loaded. You return the driver to the vehicle and learn that your partner has handcuffed the second suspect. Smith tells you that his suspect was given his Miranda rights and admitted to robbing the McDonald's. Both suspects are wearing clothes that fit the description from the robbery as detailed in the radio information received shortly after the robbery. You then place both suspects under arrest for robbery and transport them to the police station for further processing. The driver gave his name as Ken Hope, and the passenger stated his name as Ted Whiteside. Hope is described as W/M, DOB 1-23-86, 5'11", 185 pounds, wearing blue jeans and red T-shirt. Whiteside, W/M, 2-19-88, 6"4", 230 pounds, wearing blue jeans and white T-shirt The case number assigned to the robbery is 01-4567.
