Homework: E-Health
Overview: Health informatics (E-Health) is a multi-disciplinary field at the intersection of information science, computer science, and health care. Health informatics is growing at a rapid pace and will continue to grow well into the future. This course addresses variations in the application of IT and/or IT services in the healthcare industry, the use of AI in healthcare and clinical settings, IT support for care continuity, IT components of individualized treatment, and health registries. The course has two primary parts. The first component covers particular concerns related to the use of IT in healthcare through several themes. The second part is a mini project that involves thoroughly researching a certain subject and developing potential solutions.
Instructions:
A set of articles have been selected that cover different topics in health informatics during the semester. So, continue on this approach, you will be responsible to select one article that not discussed during the semester and do a summary of the article and also present the topic in class. You will submit your 2-page summary through the Blackboard system.
You should do the following for this homework:
1) None of your classmates must cover your selected article; neither must the instructor.
2) Prepare a well-analyzed executive summary of the article. The summary is in the form of a bulleted outline to help the reader to quickly grasp the structure and main ideas of the articles. Each bullet will consist of a complete, yet short, sentence. The whole summary should be no more than 2 pages. Then, Submit a summary of the article through the Blackboard the day before your assigned presentation.
3) Give a 10 to 15 minute presentation of the article you select. The outline of your presentation should address the following:
a) The main purpose of the articles,
b) Their motivation and assumptions,
c) Their suggested conclusions, and their implications.
4) The year of the article should be no earlier than 2015 (2015 to present).
