Purpose: This web application allows the user to sign up for an Internet service provider for home connectivity.
Program Procedures: From a Web application, the user should choose one of two types of home online service.
Algorithms, conditions and Processing:
1. The web site has two pages. The Home page gives information about the Internet service provider. The second page is the sign-up for service page.
2. The user has to be able to select information about the internet service provider on a web form. The information should add the first and last name of the user and whether they want options of hosting a personal web site and renting a wireless router.
3. The cost for the service is as given:
Optional services:
Host Personal site: 2.99 per month
Wireless Router: 3.99 per month
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL)
Initial Connection: $49.99
Basic Monthly Service: 19.99
4. After the selection is entered, the user clicks the Sign Up for Internet Service button.
5. The information entered is validated.
6. The application shows the first month's cost (includes the initial connection fee), and the subsequent month's cost (does not include the initial connection fee).
Notes and Restrictions:
1. Data validation controls should be used. The first and last names are validated to confirm they are not left empty.
2. No optional service is needed.
3. Show a picture representing the World Wide Web on the Web form.
USE CASE DEFINITION
- The Home page opens, displaying a Home and Sign-Up button, and image showing the World Wide Web, and text that welcomes users to Earth Connect.
- User clicks the Sign-Up button.
- The Sign-up page opens, opening and displaying pricing page and an Internet service provider order form for a home connection, a picture representing the World Wide Web, two Text Box objects requesting the user's first and last names, a Checkbox object for selecting whether the user needs a personal site, a Checkbox object for showing the user wants to rent a wireless router, and a Submit button.
- User clicks the submit button.
- Validation controls check the data.
- The application shows the first month's cost of connectivity to an Internet service provider with the services selected, and the following month's cost for the service.
