BSBINM601 Manage knowledge and information
1. Read the scenario information provided under CoffeeVille - your brief in Appendix 1.
2. Review CoffeeVille simulated business documentation, including policies and procedures relating to communication, privacy and confidentiality of information to assist in understanding and managing information dissemination within the business. Coffeeville's policies and procedures can be viewed online on Coffeeville's intranet.
3. Research management information and decision support systems based on the criteria established by CoffeeVille's owners. You can use digital technologies to investigate new technologies and explore new ideas for the storage and dissemination of information.
4. Prepare a report for CoffeeVille's owners based on their specified criteria and requested content as outlined in Appendix 1. Include in the report an explanation of the importance of adhering to organisation and legal requirements in regard to privacy and security.

5. Prepare a communication plan for the dissemination of information within the organisation. The communication plan should maintain effective workplace relationships, help meet organisational goals, and ensure organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are being met.
6. Create a review schedule for the communication plan covering at least four scheduled intervals. Update the communication plan for two intervals. Arrange a time to meet with your assessor to conduct a practical assessment. You will need access to a computer with a loaded information system, or arrange with your assessor to attend your place of work if you are using an in-house system. You are required to demonstrate the following:
a. Open the information system and demonstrate password security process designed to prevent unauthorised access to the system
b. Enter data for at least two new records
c. Amend an existing record, e.g. change of phone or other details, and save to store the data
d. Create at least two reports to demonstrate different required outcomes from the stored data, e.g. sales category output or customer purchasing patterns.
