PROJECT MANAGEMENT
ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY: PROJECT
Your task is to nominate a project for which you will act as Project Manager.
This task should have some basis on reality, thus providing you with constraints and real life changes to deal with.
Prepare a project charter for your project. Use the project charter template as guides.
(a) what you will do- the tasks needed to complete the project
(b) when you will do it - the duration required for the tasks
(c) how you will do it - the resources required to undertake the tasks
Then set the project by completing the following:
1) Time Planning
Break down the project into manageable chunks and set targets for each stage
** (This project should have a minimum of 15 activities)
2) Complete a Gantt chart for the above and any other additional charts you feel may be useful.
3) Set out the resources required for your project and assign them to the programme activities as necessary.
4) Define costs for the resources used in order to allow the computer to calculate the preliminary project cost.
5) Outline any risks that can be foreseen or any special conditions you must remember.
6) Outline the form of reporting and communication you will use to keep everyone up to date. Keep relevant records. Don't forget to document communications as the project progresses. Producing relevant transcripts e.g. minutes of meeting etc.
Produce a final summary of the overall success of the project identifying weaknesses in your procedures and discussing different methods you would implement next time to improve the end result.
PROJECT COST MANAGEMENT PLAN
1. Prepare and print a one-page cost model for the project describe in running case. Be sure to document your assumptions in preparing the cost model. Assume the labour rate per hour for project manager and other project team.
2. Using the cost model, prepare a cost baseline by allocating the costs by WBS for each month. Create a spreadsheet to calculate your projected total costs.
3. Explain how earned value management (EVM can be used to control costs and measure your project performance.
4. Create a cost management plan for your project.
PROJECT HR MANAGEMENT PLAN

3. Plot the six risks on a probability/impact matrix. Also assign a numeric value for the probability and impact of each risk on meeting the main project objective. For a simple risk factor calculation, multiply the probability score and the impact score. Follow the recommended risk register template.
4. Develop a response strategy for the identified risk also describe what specific tasks would be required to implement the strategy, include time and cost estimates for each strategy.
