Question: Project
Background: In order to maintain a good reputation at the Heart of Texas University, professors are required to maintain the highest standards of quality instruction. One of the ways the university monitors this is by getting an anonymous student feedback at the end of the semester.
Currently the university uses a prepared questionnaire to be filled by the students which covers the key points regarding a course and its delivery. This task has been done manually with paper and pencil. This has many drawbacks and evaluating these hand-written forms is a difficult process. But this is the online-era, where everything is online, and the Heart of Texas University is one of the pioneers in this country introducing e-learning systems, online registrations of courses and much more.
Requirements: Part 1: Prepare a preliminary proposal describing the problem regarding the manual submission of feedback forms and the digital solution design. Include items such as project timelines, required resources, and estimated costs for development and implementation.
Part 2: A typical feedback form consists some questions where students have to give a numerical "grade" and one or more comments fields. Select one or more design platforms and design a preliminary draft of the digital solution you proposed in Part 1. This submission should be a roughly operable beta version. Also begin drafting a help file or manual to assist end users in use of the new solution. This can be incorporated into your design platform for full digital interaction.
Part 3: Typically, lecturers/instructors would like to see a summary of the feedbacks in addition to going through them individually. Recording the identity of the students with their feedback is not expected, but if the student prefers to do so they should have this option. One student is allowed to give only one feedback in one turn; however they are allowed to change it at any time later. All the modifications to the feedback should be tracked. In addition, you will have to consider factors such as courses conducted by more than one lecturer and students belonging to different departments. This description is kept vague to a certain extent so that you have the opportunity to come up with the details. For instance, you can think about allowing lecturers/instructors to respond to feedbacks.
For this final phase, continue working on the design to address the comments in the previous paragraph. Finalize a working digital solution with a comprehensive help file or user manual. Create a short presentation highlighting the features of the solution as a sales pitch to the University.
